Having said that, I agree with 4ceps. It's generally best to decide on a tournament structure that you'll use most often and build your set around that. With my first set of chips, I tried to make a very versatile set for all sorts of different tournament structures (from T100-T10,000), then found I generally only run a few types (mostly T1000 - T2000), so I hardly, if ever, use some of the denominations. In hindsight, I should've concentrated on just a few (4 or 5) denominations.

Besides, later you might want a different set of chips to be your cash set (especially if they might get used by players who've busted out of a tournament that's continuing at another table). You don't want there to be any chance of players sneaking a $25 (relatively low-valued) tournament chip into the cash game...
