| Re: tipping? I've only ever played cash poker at a casino on one occasion, and I tipped a few dollars out of each pot I won, and then $15 out of a huge pot ($700 - huge for me).
10% of that pot would have been $70. Unless the dealer had a gun pointed at my head, he wasn't gonna get $70 off me.
And for the record, I'd much rather they paid the dealers a living wage, upped the rake if need be, and banned tipping altogether.
I just don't understand tipping people for doing their job properly. It's not like the guy dealt me playable cards on purpose, and he wasn't exactly killing the table with repartee.
The best dealer I have ever seen, dealt the cards without error and was generally polite.
Isn't that their job?
