I added the cupholders just last night, before our game. I like them a lot. They worked out great. I didn't want drinks on the table, so I built it w/out a racetrack. The type I installed swing out from under the table. They are attached w/ a lazy susan. Also, I added a magnetic latch/catch so when they swing into position, they stay in place. Using the leftover wood from the dining table-top I bought for the base, I built four w/ two cupholders in each. They did not get in the way at all. I think they might've if I had built eight w/ one cupholder each.
The only drawback so far, is since the beer is so conveniently positioned now, I ended up drinking quite a bit. The night finished-up around 3:30, and I had a pretty good headache when I finally got out of bed this morning. |
