Last night at my weekly tourney, a new guy caused quite the scuffle about coloring up and my blind schedule. Here it is: (20 min/level)

We color up our Red (5) chips after level 3, our Green (25) chips after level 8(*thanks abby*), and our Black (100) chips after level 14(*again, thanks*). When someone has a ton of Purple (500) chips, we usually have no problem trading them for Yellow (1000) chips.
Anyway, this new guy (a friend of a regular) made a huge deal about coloring up and my blind schedule. I didn't think it was unreasonable. I mean, we've been playing the same way every week for the last 3 months. The new guy said "When and how you color up shows how little you know about and understand the game." I let it go at the moment, but as he was leaving I kindly requested he not come anymore. Is there anything wrong with the way I do things? Feel free to be honest, I don't care. I want to do things right, even if it does take all of us a while to get used to it. BTW when we color up we don't race, we just round.
