10g Deluxe Dice Chips
(AKA THE FAUX CLAY)
Purchased from:
http://www.5stardeal.com
or
http://www.discountcasinogear.com
Price Paid: .045¢-.05¢ each
These are the uber cheap chip for those first timers who are trying to figure out how chip addictions begin, or for those who are on a budget. These chips are probably best suited for tournament use due to the solid, classic colors. The single most important advantage to buying these chips is membership into an elite society known as THE FAUX CLAY NATION.
Pros:
Weight: 10g
Feel: The have a feel that is harder than a Soprano, but softer than many high end chips
Stacking: The cross hatching provides for a unique texture while also allowing these to stack similar to concrete pillars at 20 chips, while still being very stable at heights of 40-50 chips
Sound: Very close to clay like. (I also think they sound very similar to my

AB
sample; but I only have 3 of them so I might be off there.)
Price: These are extremely inexpensive, but are worth much, much more.
Application of Labels- adding labels to these makes them look outstanding- especially if you get hooked up with a great designer!!
Cons:
Few color choices- orange, yellow, and grey are gone unless you find some unwitting soul who would part with them.
Lack of edge spots- I must admit I really love an edge-spotted chip; but when you're building a tournament set on a budget some things need to be overlooked
Mold- I am really digging here, but some people do not prefer dice on a chip period- I tend to overlook them because mainly you look at stack of chips, and after they're labeled and in a pot you barely notice them
