New First Set Desired

What I am looking for is my first custom or semi-custom set. I would need at least 1000 to replace the cheapies I'm using now. I have considered quite a few options - from homepokerchips.net to the American Beauties back when they were first being developed. I'm (finally) in a position to pull the trigger, but have not been actively pursuing or keeping up-to-date on the "state" of chips - what's hot? Whats not? Anything new to avoid? Who's selling sets of this size currently out there? Any help or inof on your sets appreciated!
