| Chips for cash/tourney set (added current idea for breakdown) Hey I'm thinking of getting a set big enough to cover my cash games and tourney set both in one... I'm thinking use the same denoms for each, we usually play .25/.50 NL for cash games, so I'm thinking T100 with .25/.50 blinds would be a good bet (200x BB) could just use my current blinds schedule divided by 100. The typical buy-in is $20, so I'm opting for a $20 chip instead of a $25 chip just for simplicity... so my question is what would be a good setup for both cash and tourney... I've been sitting down with pen and paper trying to figure it out but it's hard finding good numbers that will work for both... I'm thinking of just getting enough for a 20 person tournament and that should be more than enough for a full ring cash game.
Anybody have any decent suggestions?
EDIT: Okay so I think I figured everything out with optimal numbers...
80 x 25c
300 x $1
240 x $5
100 x $20
For a full 10 handed cash game, I can hand out 8 quarters and 18 singles to everyone and plenty of chips for rebuys. I should also have enough chips to start out a $1/$2 cash game if I ever get friends playing that high stakes, but I don't see that happening for awhile, if ever. (and if it does, I'll just have to order an add-on to my set)
For a T100 tourney with up to 20 players...
15x T1
9x T5
2x T20
STRUCTURE
1/2
2/4
3/6
4/8
---1 hour---
5/10
6/12
8/16
10/20
COLOR UP T1 chips
15/30
20/40
25/50
30/60
COLOR UP T5 chips
40/80
60/120
80/160
100/200
Anyone care to add anything?
