I have not been on ChipTalk in a while but I thought that I would have to share this story.
$50 Tournament at a local casino About 60 entries.
Very First Hand of the tourney:
I am sitting on Big Slick in middle position
Everyone folds in front of me.
I raise it up to a little more than 3 times the big blind
Then the small blind goes all in.
I am thinking to myself that this guy probably sitting on a pair.
I said to myself this is a horrible call but if I win I sitting pretty good after the first hand. So I said what the hell I will gamble, I call
Sure enough he had a pair JJ
JJ held up
Nothing but low cards came out. Almost hit a straight on the board.
But I did not even get to play one flop.
Funny thing was I was sitting at the bar prior to the Tourney and this guy sat down next to me and started talking about the tournament.
Once again, Big Slick fails for me
