Re: CC&GTCC Convention, who else will be there?...

Well, I made it to Vegas this morning and headed directly to the Riveria for the CC&GTCC show.

Wow.

Wow.

If you're even the least bit interested in collecting chips, or even just looking at collections of chips, you've got to come to one of these.

Here's just one of the hundreds of booths:

I bought a couple of chip tubes and a Luxor Silver Strike (the one w/ Tut on it) from them. They're also a source for some nice cases that will hold/display my Silver Strike collection, so I'll probably order a case from them tomorrow.

One of today's highlights was stumbling onto the ASM booth! They have a couple of display cases showing the custom chips they've made lately. Chiptalkers would recognize several of their samples. I had a nice chat with Jim (ASM) Blanchard:

And finally managed to get a picture of a camera-shy Cathy:

Both Jim and Cathy are delightfull people. Cathy gave me some sweet sample chips. I definitely plan to spend some more time at that booth tomorrow.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to hook up with Jim (Gaming Ore) Follis yet, but hopefully I'll see him tomorrow.

Oh, I got a free copy of the "Antique Gambling Chips" book, complements of the author, Dale Seymour, who graciously autographed it for me as well.

Tomorrow, I'll be going back with more cash in my pocket. And yes, I'll keep an eye out for a Chuck Norris (or Mr T) chip. I didn't detect any big disturbances amongst the chips today, though, so I suspect Chuck may not be in the house. But with all the chips in that room, I find it hard to believe that any chip is missing!

good times.
