Was this in a home game or in a B&M. (Though it 's highly unlikely, I suppose we were in the same game) I witnessed the same thing happen at Flamingo once. I was holding 55, which was looking interesting post flop, but was an auto fold when the fourth J hit the river. (First and only time I fold a hand upon making quads).
In my situation, three were in the pot two with A (who split) and one with a K.
Actually, there was a poor SOB who had never played live before, and claimed he folded an A on the turn because he had only A2 on , and thought his 2 would be a poor kicker -- (sez prospero artfully winding his way back to kicker questions)
