That is the reason I went to big denoms with the plaques. I was still able to find a casino quality production house to make them. I have mixed feelings about the $1000.00 too.
The plaques make the big(ger) games possible while maintaining the class. I would consider a Matsui for a non-denom because it will not try to mimic the Paulson. It will stand out appart from the Paulson, while still looking elegant. Or get some Paulson Starbursts.
But to answer your Q, a NCV would be sweet! |
Well, of course the quality won't match, but if we could get the basics down it wouldn't be too bad, I don't think. Basics being, imho, a giant inlay of a NY landmark/location, duplicate the wording to the extent possible, and match the number font with "NCV" (or even just skip that). so long as the edge spots rock in a similar way, it'd be sweet.
I agree that plaques designate a higher denomination but, for people actually using their PNYs, I think a cheap alternative to $2.50, $20 and even $500 or $1000 would be desired. Not too mention for those games needing a $.50 chip. Hey, if people think BC qulaity os so inferior, we could do a $.50 chip with a picture of a NY garbage alley way on the inlay.
I've never used chip forge but maybe within the next week I can use some images on a blue chip with some...hmmm, I'll have to figure out edgespots. But anyway, do a mockup. People should feel free to beat me to it though.
