The best five cards win. I lost a hand last Friday evening despite having three pairs - pocket threes in my hole with the board showing two tens, two eights, and a brick. My opponent couldn't even pair the board, but had a king which out kicked my threes and the brick. Talk about a crappy way to loose a hand, but the best five cards play.
