| Re: The Pines - Custom NJ Ceramics As I mentioned I'm very much more of a clay fan. That said I've never hated ceramics like some and have wanted to have a set. now I'm kind of realizing my ideal, clay cash set, ceramic tourney set. Don't know why but that always seemed the way to me.
You can do some nifty things with ceramics, like that 25 & 500 chip, that you couldn't do (or couldn't do easily if at all) with clay. Still there are some elements that are clay like, notably how the spots are on some.
I'll let you know how these wear in. They seem like they're going to be very good chips. A week turnaround with the service is unbeatable. I know there's some talk elsewhere on CT about a supercheap ceramic but personally I'd rather not deal with that maker/seller. Also by being able to go as low as 500 and have that be at a really good price point, even now post sale, and not have to deal with all the hoopla related to a Group Buy is recommendation enough. Don't get me wrong a GB is a great way to get an unavailable chip or really good price but those who have taken part know what a pain in the ass it can be trying to agree on every single element. This way you have your idea and you ship it, no fuss no muss and unique chips are yours. |
