PPA seeks legal counsel for victims of SC poker bust

The Poker Players Alliance (PPA) is seeking legal counsel for individuals who were arrested in a South Carolina poker bust last week, it was announced in a newsletter yesterday. Created to promote and protect the game of poker and to defend the rights of all poker players, the PPA has been receiving concerned emails from its members regarding the recent raid of the private home game in Mount Pleasant, SC.
During the raid, police arrested 22 people and seized nearly $6,000 in cash from the tables and players.
"We are actively working to help the individuals who were arrested in this raid and we are seeking legal counsel that is licensed to practice in South Carolina, on a pro-bono basis, to assist in their defense," said Michael Bolcerek, president of the PPA. "If you are an attorney, or if you know of an attorney who would be willing to offer their services, please contact me directly."
Bolcerek also discussed the PPA's desire to build a database of attorneys from communities throughout the United States who are willing to assist in similar matters on a pro-bono basis. Bolcerek assures candidates that the list will be held confidential.
"If you believe that defending the rights of your fellow poker enthusiast is as important as we do, please respond with any help you can provide," concluded Bolcerek.
