Hmmm... I like the design. I'm wondering if there is a font that would be easier to read at small sizes - one that has a uniform thickness. It is difficult to make out the 5 on the 500 chips.

I don't think it would be confusing, especially with the higher denom chips where the edge spots take up a large proportion of the chip. My only concern is the $1 chip, which just has two thin edge spots. I understand why you chose them in the progression, but I wonder if with that little colour it would difficult to identify them on edge. Initially I thought perhaps a 314 would be better, but then I realised that it would not go well with the set, so maybe a 414 like the $5 would be better.....? I'm not sure exactly, just my initial reaction.

I see the "thinner line" effect on the $1000 chip especially - perhaps if you just made the traced line a lighter colour that would alleviate the problem. It is a little dark compared to your edge spots anyway.


Are you going to do a full bleed on the grey background? I see the white circles in the mock-ups, but I'm not sure if that is intentional or a product of chip forge.
