| Re: A Poker Ettiquette Question I agree... nothing wrong with it when the action is over...
Remember when Sheiky laid down a hand but there was still action between Matusow and ??? at last years WSOP. Ans Sheiky reacted to the flop in such a way that it was known that he hit the flop?
Sheiky got a 10 minute penalty. Matusow got 10 too for telling Sheiky he needs to shut to f#ck up when the hand is live.
Now, saying there's nothing wrong with it doesn't answer the poll question. Hell yes it bothers me when I am behind and I get told that one of my outs is gone too... But it really doesn't change the percentages as much as you'd think.
If I have K-Q against J-J and the flop misses us both, there are 7 cards out.
The chances of me making another 10 are (1-(39/45)) + (1-(38/44)) = 24.7%
If someone tells me they folded a K (or a Q), my chances are (1-(39/44)) + (1-(38/43)) = 20.6%
Only a 4.1% drop... That said, it still bothers me...
EDIT: Actually, those percentages are wrong, because I forgot to figure in the possibility that a J would fall. If a Jack hits the turn or river, I can't win with KQ (unless there was a A/10 or 9/10 on the flop and the other hits the turn/river...straight beats trips...unless there is also a pair on the board...boat beats straight)... see possibilities get outrageous.
Two overcards are generally 45:55 to a pocket pair... Is there a poker caluclator out there that can take in to acount folded cards? I generally use the one at Bluff, and it doesn't have the option of doing this...
