| Re: Where to keep the bank Behind me in racks on a little knee high rolly cart.
I always take the "dealers seat" at my table, (Seat 0 next to the drop box for the cash) and everyone else sits wherever they want, first come first choice.
I'm the only one that handles the cash and chips, (Unless I ask the wife for help) but I always ask "What do you think you have?" when someone cashes out. Then I ask the person next to them to count it again for me while I get the money out of the drop box. Then I recount them myself as I put the cash on the table next to the players stacks of chips. The money goes on the table and is NOT TOUCHED (Unless it is just a single person leaving) until the chips are counted back into the racks.
At the end of the night, I go around the table doing this one player at a time, until all the remaining cash is distributed and accounted for against the chip stacks.
The players are then welcome to take their money, but may not leave until I put away the chips and the racks are squared, making sure no chips are missing.
It takes a few minutes to do this, but it makes the players all feel better about their cash-out, and we have discovered some mistakes by using this system that were easily fixed while everything is still out on the table. 99% of the time the cash-outs are correct down to the last quarter. |
