| Re: micro cash AND tourney in one set??? Right now I'm working on a setup that will allow for either regular or deepstack tourneys, as well as cash games, for 10 people.
The best setup I've come up with so far is:
400x(25)
400x(100)
150x(500)
50x(1000)
-----------
1000 chips
Obviously, for the cash games, the denom would be in cents, rather than dollars, so you'd have plenty of chips on hand for a 25/50 game or a 50/100 game. 10 people could each buy-in for up to $100 each and you'd have plenty of chips. Once you get higher than that, like $1/$2, you'd want more $5/500 chips.
This setup works for regular tournaments of up to 20 buy-ins (so with 10 people you could have 10-rebuys), with starting stacks of 2500. Each buy-in gets 20x(25) + 15x(100) + 1x(500) = 2500. Blind levels for this tourney would be 25/50, 50/100, 75/150, 100/200, 150/300 (colorup), 200/400, 300/600, 400/800, 500/1000, 600/1200, 800/1600 (colorup), 1000/2000, 1500/3000, 2000/4000. With 20 minute blind levels, this tournament should be over in 4 hours.
Or, you could use this for a deep-stack freezeout tournament, with starting stacks of 8000. 32x(25) + 32x(100) + 8(500) = 8000. Blind levels would be the same, with an additional 2500/5000, 3000/6000, 3500/7000, 4000/8000, 5000/10000. With 20 minute blind levels, this tournament should theoretically be over in 6 hours, but likely quicker with no re-buys.
Granted, this could get pretty boring for those knocked out early, but once you color up the 25s (at around the 2 hour mark) you should have enough of those chips to accomidate a small 25/50 cash game on the side.
So, in conclusion, if the buyin for the regular tourney (2500) was $25, all the chips in play would be worth their face value in cents, regardless of whether they are in the tourney or in the cash games. |
