Are Paulson blue chips made of different material then the others?
Are the blue Paulson Pharaohs/Classic/JB chips made of different material than the others in those sets? This seems like a strange question, but read on to see why I ask.
I received a sample set of the Pharaohs and JBs yesterday. I spent several hours shuffling them over the course of the day. This morning I noticed that all the chips were pretty dirty. I believe this is due to transfer of one color of chip to another more so than dirt.
I cleaned all the chips with a tooth brush, mild soap and water. I then dried them with a paper towel. The blue chips left a very noticeable tint on the paper towel. None of the other colors did this.
I read in a couple of the oiling threads that oiling will help reduce the transfer of color from one chip to another. I decided to give it a try so I oiled each chip with mineral oil. I used a paper towel to apply the oil and a cloth towel to wipe off the excess. Again the blue chips left a noticeable tint on the cloth towel and the other colors did not. I am just curious as to why.
I am new here so I apologize if this has been discussed before. I looked but couldn't find anything. TIA for any comments.
