I like the Jackpot Casino chips but the chips in the link have a MUCH better feel and they sound and stack better as well. I like to describe these chips as a heavier Soprano 10g chips (because of the feel) with a coin inlay. Also, these chips are easily differentiated from one denom to another but some of the Jackpot chips look the too close under some lighting. The $1 white/purple Jackpot chips looks very close to the $5 white/red chip (the diff isn't obvious like it is in the pic) and a purple $1 chip just looked wrong to me. I didn't want to deal with the headache of a bet/pot misunderstanding so I bought $1 chips coin inlay chips (white/grey) from pjccmall (and $10 chips as well) and put the $1 Jackpot chips (200 of them) away and out of site. |
That's funny, we've never had that problem... But I can see your point.
Then again we have a pool table light (3 lamp) right over our poker table hooked up to a dimmer, and that is pretty much the only light in the room except for the 15 watt over the cash register. It is better than casino lighting IMO.
We don't get too many $5 chips in play, and when they are, they are guarded like they are $5000 chips. We mostly use a 1000 total set of 500 25 cents, 400 one dollars and 100 $5.00 chips. Since these are definetly NOT the best stacking chips (more than 20 gets questionable) I prefer to try to keep the players somewhat colored up to having no more than $5.00 in "pinks," otherwise the chip stacks can get out of control. Picture $40-60 in 25 cent chips and you'll get the idea.
