Rebuys...if and when?
Just curious to hear how other folks are handling rebuys at their tournaments. I typically have between 15-25 players broken up between two or three tables depending on the actual player count. I do the rebuys for everyone that wants one at the end of each round (with the end of round three being the cutoff for rebuys). Some players have asked why they can't rebuy right after they bust out, which is what led to this post.
I play as well as run the games, and it can be tough to play a hand and try to handle rebuys at the same time. So, to limit impact on the group as a whole, I decided to handle all rebuys at the end of the round. That way everyone rebuying for that round starts off on even footing, and there isn't a table waiting for me to finish a hand or finish wrapping up someone's rebuy during play. We have a lot of newbies at this point and no one wants to act as a table captain to handle rebuys at each individual table, so I'm stuck handling them for all three tables. Does my solution sound like a good (and fair) way to handle it? Any suggestions on how to improve it? thanks for your input - m
