Hey,
After reading the review on the Diamond Chip Cleaner product that wilson wrote, I decided to have some fun and try using my Tide Detergent w/Bleach Alternative to see if it performs similar to the Diamond Chip Cleaner. Before this, I had always used some kind of soap to clean my chips. When I started out, I did not expect much. I poured a little bit of the detergent into a cup, then filled it with hot water, and finally put as many chips as I could fit into the cup. I waited half an hour and then started scrubbing. To my surprise, I only needed to scrub each side of the chip for 5 seconds (I usually do about 30 seconds) to turn my dirty chip into a very clean chip! Remembering that with the Diamond Chip Cleaner, you only needed to wipe the chip and the dirt will come off, I tried rubbing the chip with a towel, and most of the dirt did come off! However, I continued to brush the chips to remove the hotstamps. After another 30 minutes of this (60 minutes total from start of putting the chips into the solution) I noticed that it was VERY easy to brush the dirt away and also noticed that my cup of solution with chips in it had turned dark and cloudy. So I tried wiping the chips again, and I found that ALL of the dirt came of fairly easily! The chunks of dirt also came off easyly! I do not have a digital camera an thus am not able to post pictures, but does anyone wanna try this to confirm my findings? Could someone with the diamond cleaner solution try this with detergent (and detergent w/bleach in it already) to compare the results? I was also thinking of using the no rub contact cleaning solutions and soaking the chips with that, but that's another experiment for another day
