Didn't mean anything bad by calling your colors wacky. It's all about personal preference. That said, there is a great many of us that tend to follow the casino "standard" for denom colors. I put standard in quotes because there's variation in some denoms depending on casino, state, etc.
When I had my diamond set I had:
Red = $5
Green = $25
Black = $100
Purple = $500
Yellow = $1000
Those are fairly standard in just about every casino although $1000 can vary. Red, green, black, and generally purple though will be the same pretty much everywhere.
I won't even start up the
debate just yet.
