DST, since they are not marked you can pretty much do anything. Cash game might be lame but since it's for fun and your talking $5 you can make it micro demons give each player the following for $5:
.10/.25 blinds for the night
.10 Blue x 10
.25 White x 8
.50 Yellow x 2
$1 Black x 1
Which gives them 21 chips to make it seem like they are holding big stacks and rebuy when they bust out.
Or, with 10 people and everyone just bringing $5, I would do a SNG style or small T500. Have everyone put in their $5 and make the break down on denoms something like:
$1 Blue x 25
$5 White x 25
$25 Yellow x 10
$100 Black x 1
Use a blind structure 20 minutes each level like below and winner takes all:
$3 $6, $5 $10, $10 $20, $20 $40, $25 $50, -Color up $1 & $5 - $50 $100, $75 $150, $100 $200, $125 $250, $150 $300, $200 $400, $300 $600, $400 $800, $500 $1,000
I quickly throguh this structure together. But you get my point. Play and winner takes all.
