Very similar to my old set of diamonds that I had. The colors are wacky, but no big deal. Here's the format I used to use.
400 blue - $5
300 white - $25
200 yellow - $100
100 black - $500
Start everyone off with 1500 in chips. I always liked a lot of chips in play, so I gave out 20 5's, 20 25's, and 9 100's. Should be more than enough chips for up to 16 players.
This is for tourney by the way. That seems to be what everyone wants to do and sounds like what your friends probably have in mind. Start your blinds off at 5-10 or 10-20 and away you go. For a friendly game like this, you probably also want to allow rebuys for the first hour or so as well.

i have these people over pretty often. they don't want to learn to rules of limit and like playing no-limit because the betting rules aren't strict (and we always get a good laugh when somebody makes a big bet and tries to stare down an opponent without either of the two laughing). this is fine with me. we'll just drink beer and play around. so my question is, what should the chip denominations and set up look like? i have:
300 white
400 blue
200 yellow
100 black
so if you dont mind, could you suggest a starting chip count and their denominations? also, i'm not sure if we should play a cash game with rebuys or a tournament. i know the cash game would be lame since its only $5/person, but this isn't gonna be about making money and i dont want anybody knocked out with nothing to do. so yeah. basically i'm asking what you experienced guys would do with these chips and these 8-10 people putting in 5 bucks each, with a no-limit game (or tourny). if more info is needed, i'm on my compy checking this thread every 2 minutes, haha.
thanks so much! you all are the best! |
