Rule of thumb on setting Min/Max set for a PL home game Reading another thread on setting min/max buy in has brought me to a question(s).
My home cash game is PL with Min buy-in $25/Max $100. My blinds start at .50/$1 blinds that change at 2 hour intervals through out the night until a cap.
Thanks to chiptalk, I recently bought a set of Chipcos. So, now I plan to have the blinds start at $1/$2 because my lowest denom is now a $1. Also, I will now keep it at $1/$2 for the night because my “raising the blinds” was a carry over house rule from when we use to play limit to entice more action.
I like to keep my games as close as the casinos as possible. (Minus the rake of course because it's illegal where I'm at.)Although I've played a lot in casinos, I never really paid much attention to the min/max relative to the stakes.
1. So, Is there a rule of thumb or a calculation for casinos to set the min/max buy-in relative to the stakes of the table? I.E. Max Buy in should be100xBB for a $1/$2 table.
2. I love PL but have not played PL in casinos. For a $1/$2 PL table what would be the typical min/max for PL? Or, is the answer to my first question the answer because it doesn’t matter between Limit, PL, and NL follow the formula.
THX
