It's just a personal thing. I like to start folks off with a goodly number of chips. My preference would be for even higher starting stacks (I generally do 50 or so in my cash game) but I need the felixiblity to go to larger sized tournaments if required. I can do up to 20 people if needed (though 6-10 is the norm).

The ante for later in play is a new thing. It's just to spur some action at the point folks start to get really cautious. Texas Tears and WSOP use 'em, for the same reason I imagine.

As far as time 1.5-2 hours seems quick to me. When I do a tourney I like 4 hours or so. Make it a contest of skill as much as possible.

Re: different value chips v. stacks. It doesn't take long to get used to how much a stack or 1/2 stack is worth.

The last bit I can't quite figure out. Multiple colors = same value? That seems like a nightmare.
