Rate Your Poker Skills
Borrowing from Barry Greenstein’s poker rating system, I thought it would be fun to rate poker skills of the regulars on here. I’ve added more categories for tournament skills, since that’s primarily how we know each other on here. Rate your own poker skills.
The Scales -- rankings from 1 to 10
Aggressiveness
: Measure of style -- how often the player takes the betting lead.
Looseness
: Measure of style -- correlates to percentage of hands played.
Tournaments Overall
:
Tournament - early stages
:
Tournament - late stages
:
Short-handed
: Can occur early, middle and late tourney stages, as players drop out and before tables are combined
Cash games
:
Steam control
: A high number indicates better self-control when losing.
Personal Chip Design
: [where applicable]
Speakeasy rates the other players:
Since I’ve never played live with any of the regulars on this site (to my knowledge),
this is based strictly on everyone’s on-line play, mostly in the weekly tournament
and a few at the cash games. I might be way off for your live skills, but I have no way of knowing about that (except for maybe some strategy posts). Some of the categories are difficult to judge, such as “Steam Control,” because you might be raging in front of your computer and we have no way of knowing; for others, the tilt clearly comes through in comments and variations in style after bad beats. I think there are several regulars that have become noticably better at tournament play since we started the weekly tournaments. Please feel free to criticize my rankings. If you are offended -- oh well.
