You'll get a bit more help with this type of thing if you post it down in the "Home Games Section".

In short the best 5 card hands wins the pot. Sometime two players can have the same hand because they share a card of the same rank that makes that hand or the board may be the best (both players would than play the board).

Examples:

Player A = AcKc
Player B = 7s2h
Board = 5h5c5s9h9s

Both players have 5s full of 9s (they play the board)

Player A = Ks10s
Player B = 5h10c
Board = 7c8s9hJh3c

Both players have a Jack high straight (they each play their 10 only)

Player A = Ah2c
Player B = Ac4s
Board = JcQs9h6c5d

Both players have Ace high with both of their kickers being lower than the other four cards on the boards.

The simplest thing to do is see what each players best 5 card hand is. If they have the same hand, they split.
