Pretty simple. Any time two or more people hold the same hand.
Say two people are in the hand, one with
and the other with
The board comes
Both players have two pair, Q's and 10's w/ K kicker.
Could also be if the board is the best hand, for example:
One holds
and another holds
and the board comes
The best hand is the straight on the board.. split pot..
Of course, those are just two randomly created possibilities of a million ways a pot can be split..
