As Colquhoun mentioned the type size can vary from font to font. As a general rule, I keep the denomination no smaller than about 3/16" of an inch or about 14pt, though my general preference is normally 18pt to 28pt in bold. As a matter of fact, I try to keep all of the text in bold upper case for readability. For curved text around the edge of the print area, I try to use 6pt to 8pt bold for things like the city, and for more significant text, like the casino name, 7 to 10pt depending upon the font, the amount of text, and the available area for text. For a 1" label, try to keep your print area in a 7/8" (.875) area to allow for variances in alignment and printer creep if you're going to print it on a computer laser printer.
