Thanks Gamma, The reason I was wondering was it takes up a bidding Level so when the break starts (assume it is after level 3) it shows the break at level 4 and then what get displayed as level 5 for what is really level 4 bidding round.

Also it is a real pain to roll back to zero for the breaks.. and then roll back up to the high blinds when setting the blinds after the break.

Re: CLOSED - Poker Genie - CLOSED 10/7/05

for those of you who have used the poker genie, do you use the poker genie's suggested blind structure (after entering your # of players, chips, and desired tourney length) or your do you enter your own customized blind structure?

if you use the the poker genie's suggested blind structure have you found it to be fairly accurate in length of time? just a wonderin...

in custom mode, just enter in the length of time you want for the (break) round and set the ante, small blind, and big blind to 0.

Re: CLOSED - Poker Genie - CLOSED 10/7/05

I don't have mine yet, but isn't there a way to program in breaks without resetting the blinds and antes?

Nope.

So you have to crank everything to zero for the break, then back up for the antes and the blinds. Something to think about for version 3 ??

Nope I was asking if people out there did program the breaks.
It's not that much of a pain beacause your only setting two to three breaks anyways. Besides just hold the button down and it goes quick ,several seconds the most. I usually customize my tournament the day before since the Genie saves it. Pretty much you just have to do it once unless you play a seven card stud tourny. Then you have to set ante's and make the small blind become the bring-in and the big blind becomes the completion. Which I've done also and it works great. One thing I also suggest is to get some good velcro tape and mount the Genie unto a piece of wood the same size as the genie then put some type of bracket on the back of the wood so you can hang the Genie up any where in the room. It's better than a stand because someone will still knock the stand over eventually. And for those asking about setting the clock just read the directions there pretty easy to understand.

Thanks for the advice on the wall hanger.

I figured out a quick way to program the breaks without having to wind down and wind up the blinds. I program the break with the last small blind. advance to next blind level program as usual, then com back to wind down the break. This way I only have wind down once, and I avoid the wind up back to next blind.

Ken
