| works 4 us We play a $5 and $10 game with a $300 buy in; a ring game with up to 8 players. If you change our limits from $ to cents, it would be similar to your limits and requirements. We have played for years with a total of only 300 chips. Until I bought my Pharoahs, our 4 color chip set consisted of 80 chips @ $5, 120 chips @ $10, 80 chips @ $20, and 20 chips @ $50. This set worked great. When we ditched the "dice chips" for the pharoahs, I decided to also standardize our denominations by eliminating the unconventional $10, $20, and $50 chips and using $25 and $100 chips instead. We now have a set which consists of 200 chips @ $5, 80 chips @ $25, and 20 chips @ $100. This 3 color set works even better as there is less need for making change. The total value of our chip sets went from $4,200 to $5,000. Initial buy-ins now consist of 20 $5's and 8 $25's. We usually only use a few $100 chips during the game so towards the end of the night I will color up a few of the big winners to reduce the time it takes to cash out when we are finished. Hope this helps and good luck. P.S. We love the Pharoahs. The feel and sound is the best. |
