Merlin didn't appreciate my subtle, offline attempt to ask him nicely to remove the affiliate link so I've done it for him. This happens frequently, and I usually take care of it by talking to the member offline. Merlin didn't see it my way, and I feel bad about that. Nonetheless, spam is spam, and I had to cleanse the Op by removing Merlin;'s affiliate link and make it a plain link that gets you to the same place.
The post if fine, it's a helpful link for members. But spam, as I very roughly define it, is any link that potentially makes money or in some other way benefits the poster. That's pretty broad I know, but spam hasn't been a big problem here so there is no "rule" to point to. |
