For limit stud, it's generally an ante of about 1/4 the lower limit and then the bets go to double the lower limit on the 5th card. So for a 50¢ ante, you might want to go to $2 bets until the 3rd up card is dealt, then to $4 bets for the 6th and 7th cards. Some games might also go to $4 after the 4th card if a pair is showning on the table. After the deal the low card showing makes a forced bet of $2 (kinda like a big blind in hold'em) and if there is is a tied value, then the low card is determined by suits in Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts, Spades, order. On each subsequent round betting (or checking) starts with the high hand showing.

Omaha - we understand no-limit and pot limit betting - pretty standard
What are common ante/betting structures for 7-stud and draw for limit games?
For draw, with 2 betting rounds seems like a calling game with low limits. Haven't tried playing this yet with the current group.
We tried some 7-stud with $0.50 bets and max 3 raises - so $2 was the max going in each round of betting - it still turned into a calling game for 2 guys and kinda sucked.
Any suggestions? |
