Those cards
define the axiom "form over function."
They are cool looking, but I don't remember ever needing or wanting playing cards that were "cool looking" instead of wanting them "easily identifiable."
For the same reason I think that red chips should be $5, green $25, & black $100, etc. I also think that cards should have white faces with black spades and clubs and red hearts and diamonds.
Call me old school, but I'm guessing there is a reason why some things don't change much over time.

Not because I don't believe that "different can be better" but because some things don't
need to change.
