That is the unfortunate reality. I'm no artist, and no artist has stepped forward to create a mockup, so I went with a vendor who offers a free design service. The catch is that they won't show us anything until payment is made on the whole of the order (300 coins). And I'm not going to make the order until I see what the thickness preference is and until I get an idea of how much demand there is out there, because I don't need 150 coins for myself.

I can tell you the design guidelines I will be giving their professional art people:

-Gold color, with up to 4 colors (red, black, and green for sure, and either blue or black).
-Outer ring of text: "Tournament Champion," with "Tournament" across the top and "Champion" across the bottom, with suit symbols along the right and left.
- Center graphic should feature stacks of chips and bundles of money.

Those will be the main features in the first proof, and I plan to get feedback from everyone during the revision process.

Right now my main concern is that I will be stuck with a bunch of coins I don't want. So make sure you go and post in the main thread how many coins you are in for. If we can't generate enough interest/committment at this point in the process, then the buy won't go forward.

I don't think I missed this in the thread anywhere: How big is the coin? I get the 2mm or 3mm thick, but is it 39mm round? 50mm? More?

I would be down for atleast 12 (maybe more) since we hold one big game a month ontop of the smaller weekly games.

The 2mm is the way to go IMO for the price alone

Given the poll results and what appears to be a relatively small group of people interested in this purchase, I'm making the executive decision that the coins will be 2mm thick. So the dimensions will be 1.75" by 2mm. Check back in the main thread for continuing discussion.
