Hi folks,
first post so be gentle with me.
I spent maybe 1 hour deciding on a name for my first born son, but I've been thinking none stop for weeks about a chipco chip design, with no great results.
At the minute I am thinking towards an art deco based design, but all ideas tend to be monochrome, and won'r make the best of the chipco's full colour.
Anyone seen 1920's inspired chip designs?
Cheers

I myself haven't seen any specific chips from the 20's. But I can tell you that they were probably a lot less intricate, as the manufacturing has changed dramatically. I'm in the process of working on a set that fits the era. See this thread: http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/viewto...=2134&start=25
As far as what design principle would work, I'd say Art Deco fonts would be a good start. Here's an example of a hotstamped chip:
Good luck. You should post any preliminary designs, as this board can be a great source of feedback. If it wasn't for the people here giving me help, I'd say that most of my ideas would be a lost cause.

Jack actually.
Anyway, back to the point.
I probably misled you with my previous post....I'm not trying to create a reproduction 20's chip. I'm trying to cretae a chip that has art deco/20's style to it....
this type of thing I guess...(the train picture in particular) http://<br />
<a href="http://www.g....htm</a><br />
with suitable deco fonts
OK, OK, I know I'm being incredibly vague, I should probably come back when I have solidified a few thoughts....

Just post here, it's hard enough for me to find forums I started...
I understood you just fine, I think you misunderstood me. Those look like good images, give it a shot.
