That'd be a good way to get labels, cin0s3 (Jason) has a group buy on the ripped sheets labels going on again but the deadline for ordering is tomorrow at midnight. He does printing too if you have a design ready. Here's the thread for the buy;

Also, just measured mine and the recessed area appears to be just under an inch wide so you might want to go with the 7/8" labels or you might have problems.
Oh, and I'd agree with Chooch, the labels do come off fairly easy with a fingernail but I don't think I'd want to deal with the hassle, especially since you can get them without the label. I don't think the "labeling surface" is any different between the blanks and the pre-labeled.
