Ok to send an email to members about the Thursday Tourney?

I got an email from the admin of another poker forum, reminding me about the coming tournament. It was detailed and laid out prizes and bonus prizes. Getting it didn't bother me at all despite all the spam I always get.

It made me realize, why don't we do that? Not only for the members that don't know about the tournament, but for the members that usually play and could use a reminder.

Before I did such a thing, I wanted to see if the members think that's spam or not? I would keep it brief, and mainly point to the current week's current post about the tournament.
