Help on finding me the right custom chips. - ChipTalk.net

Ok, with the number of posts in this forum I guess I should have looked more closely instead of looking at the last few posts, but I have work in 2 hrs and don't have much time. Anyways, I am interested in buying a custom set for my poker room. I have had a few sets of chips, nothing ever spectacular but I think its time to invest in a good set of chips to go with my table. I searched around on reviews from homepokertourney.com, 21ace.com and a few posts from scottkeen.com I keep getting different answers but what I am looking for is just a good chip. I am looking to get a 1000 set for eeeh about $1 a chip. I was origionally going to go with homepokerchips.com and ordered a sample set but when it came I was kind of dissappointed. They seem kinda like my plastic composite dice chips to the feel. A little different but not much. I was expecting more of a "thud" than a click, maybe a rougher feel than perfectly smooth. These are the first ceramics I have ever seen up close so I guess my expectations were bad. I am now thinking about maybe trying to find clay chips. I do NOT want labels. They look crappy, feel crappy, yeah...sry. I don't wanna pay too much probably about the same price as homepokerchips.com or lower. I asked on homepokertourney and they told me to come here and see where to get the best chips and that HPC is a little too expensive. Any help/comments/suggestions? Thx...

You have a couple of choices. Depending on what you want.

Check out:

1. Pokerchips.com 50¢ to $1+ fully customizable. except for the edge spot positions and amount. If you get them with labels already on the chip they will be embedded in the chip.

2. TRKing.com Don't know much about them. Someone else may be able to help here.

It sounds like ASM clay chips will fit the bill nicely...

TR King are really nice, but you can't customize in your price range. If you like the Kings Crown set they make, I believe they are .95 a piece.

For the same price (.95) you can get a fully customized set from pokerchips.com (ASM) They are very nice chips as well.

I think you can also go to Nevada Jacks and order custom made Chipco chips for about a buck a piece.

But those would be really close to what he already has as ceramic samples.

I think that ASM's are going to be your ticket, as it sounds like you would prefer clay (real clay) over ceramic. You can pick the body color, the edgespot color, and design your own graphic.

At about the same price (about $1.00 a chip) those are your two best options for a custom chip. Chipco (like you have samples of) and ASM's.

The ASM's won't have "labels" but they will have a graphic of your choice embedded into the chip, just like a real casino chip would.

Drop them a line and they will send you samples, most likely for free if you mention you will be placing an order for 1000 chips if you like them.[/url]

Button I was going to say the same thing about chipco...they sound exactly like what he has samples of.

His best bet is an ASM chip if he wants to get a completly customized chip!!

This is a small world... we need to play poker some time.. lol btw, whats tpf? aaah... anyways, I'll have to look at the ASM's then and POKERCHIPS.com I had looked at them awhile back and they looked like labels so I was turned off.. I guess ill have to go back now and check. Thanks for the info, btw this is a nice site. I've heard about it for awhile, but didn't want to get into another forum but I never realized how nice of a site this is... Good Job

I suggest that you get some samples from pc.com If you call them, they will give you 3, but I suggest that you order 1 or 2 of each color. Get them to send you at least a few with edgespots and some without and some with inserts.It will give you a better feel for them. It is not going to cost you much at all and you will see that these are very nice chips.

Only negative to these is they don't allow much for variation on the edgespots. If that does not bother you, these are your best bet.
