Well, personally I think all this is a little crazy IMHO. I would estimate I could oil 500 chips in about an hour. Get a plastic container big enough to hold all your chips or at least a few hundred. Anyway, then pour your mineral oil over them. Make sure they all get cover on both sides and then pour off all the extra oil into another container; then use a clean cotton towel to wipe off excess oil from two at a time. It only takes about 10 seconds to wipe them off... Actually I would let them sit for 24 hours after I poured off the oil but before I wiped off the extra - gives the oil a little more chance to penetrate...
If you do the math and round up it only takes about an hour and a half of actual work...
This idea that you have to use a miniscule little drop of oil and treat them like they're an ancient artifact is over kill, IMHO...
