Just my observation from a casino chip collection point of view. I have a few chips in my collection that are Hot Stamped. They vary in condition and wear. While they may be somewhat durable, in time the hot stamp will fade a bit.
With regular use, hot stamps will begin to show a bit of wear but slowly over the course of 5+ years or so.
