Button help

I always advance the big blind one spot and the sb and button accordingly. I sometimes will have no big blind (if the guy that would have been the next big blind busts out). Should you always have a BB posted?

No, but the minimum bet and raise are based off of what the BB would have been!

Down to 3 handed. Say Player A is on the button, 'B' is the SB and 'C' is BB. The button busts. For the next hand, the button should move to player B, but then that would force player C to pay the BB two hands in a row. I said that you couldn't do that and the button jumps to player C to keep the rotation of blinds correct.

Basically you handled that correctly. Whenever you get down to 2 players whoever would have been the next BB in the normal rotation should be the BB and the button should be on the SB. So, good work.

if you use the dead button rule, yes you should always have a BB. The only bet you will not have would be a SB occasionally (if the BB busted on the last round). The pupose of the dead button rule is to assure no one gets out of paying a BB.
