What is the nicest chip case out there?

I have searched high and low for really nice chip cases. It does not seem like there are many options for those of us who are not on a tight budget, but want something nice.

I have read the review on the mahogany cases from 5 star and other sites and this just does not do it for me. It sounds like this is a pretty decent deal for the price, but I want real wood, not just mdf

I have also read the review on the 1200 oak case. This sounds decent too, but for now I am only looking for a case for either 500 or 600 chips.

Does anyone have one of the 500 or 600 Walnut chip cases from pokerchip.com? I know they are pricy (they have the 500 chip case listed at $285), but if they are really nice I might consider it anyway. Can someone do a review?

If someone has other really nice cases, where did you get them, and how much did you pay?

I'm with you on the REAL wood case. I looked all over the internet. E-bay had some real nice ones but most of those were metal. I did find the one from 5 Star so I bought 1 of those from 5 star for my Bf[dimperdoo] and being blonde I didnt realize that it wasnt solid wood. Ok it's still a real nice case but I wanted something nice and feel a little cheated . My bf loves it . I want to get him another with his birthday comming up on September 12th. So if any one has any ideas let me know. My budget is about $175.00.

Ok I think I may have just answered the ? How about a case made out of leather? I found these on E-bay and although they dont say they are Poker Chip cases You sure could use them as 1. And I'm pretty sure that any 1 that saw them would be Take a look and let me know if I'm right or just blond? impressed.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Bombay Co.makes a pretty sweet 'Vegas' style case:

Pretty cool card box too...

Boondocker,

I have not seen that one thet you mention from Bombay Co before. It looks ok, but it says right on there that it is made of mdf veneers. Another thing, it looks like it does not have space inside for cards.

As far as the leather jewlry box that ilyu2 mentions, I fear that for that price it will look very cheesy once you get it. This is just not going to cut it for me.

Any others?

3 or so of us have purchased the 1000chip walnut case from pc.com. We recently learned from drake that the top panel is walnut veneer, but the rest is solid walnut. Being veneer on the top is important if you plan to have some custom inlay work done, but probably not important otherwise.

You already know about the mahagony cases and the 1200 chip oak chest, so I won't comment on those here. For the best 500 or 600 chip wood case, I'd still recommend a walnut case from PC.com.

The only alternate would be having a custom case made.

CaptLego,

Are you happy with your case from pc.com? What do you think about the looks? From the pictures on their website it looks like it would be quite nice. How about storage, is there space for cards? I think that I saw somewhere that there was, but there is no description on the website.

I'm very happy with my pc.com case. I think it's a top-quality beautiful case. It doesn't have any space for cards or other accessories. As you can see from my pictures, it just holds chips.

Mine is the 1000 chip case, so I can't say for sure that the 600 chip case is the same in this regard. But it looks to me, just judging from the pics on the pc.com website, that it is the same style (only smaller) and wouldn't have any special space for cards (or dice or other accessories).

How does the case fit Paulson sized chips? 50 or 51 per row?
