No oil being used here.

I was wondering if any Paulson or other clay chip owners have used or will use a damp cloth (with water) for cleaning the chip dust residue on the chips.

If not oil will you be using water?

That's what I use to get the dust off ASMs, haven't needed to do that on the paulson JBs I got. But if yours are dusty, then a damp cloth is perfect.

Sorry to go off topic, but if you just stumbled across this site, this thread title could really confuse you.

Ive had my JB samples for months and just cleaned and oiled them.

They look freakin fantastic.

I will definitely be oiling some if not all ( ill make the judgement call as i go), and will have the pics, probably before and after.

Indeed. I so don't want to stumble across the forum where that question is asked in a more literal sense.

I'm a no, by the way. Not much experience with owning clay chips, but I think I'm in the camp that plans to let grubby human hands do their work over time.

I doubt I will for practicality. I ordered a lot of Pharoahs (about 1300, some from Greg, some from MSPatton). I can't imagine how much time it would take me to oil that many chips.

ABSOLUTELY!

It'll take a bit of time and effort to do all 1,500 chips, but like most things in life you've got to put something in to get something out. Based on the Paulson JB samples I've oiled, the work will be well worth it!

I'm really glad I oiled mine. Now they feel and stack like blue chips. Score.
