Well, you have gotten one more bid than I thought so far but it is pretty clear your item will not sell this time around.
I think it is a great set too, but I also think it would be worth the effort of splitting it up. Most collectors add to their collection a bit at a time, and I do not think there are enough people out there looking to drop a couple grand on such a massive set. Sell the JB's as a set, split up the Fun Nites into 2 or 3 smaller sets (or try it as a single set to start with), and have the plaques seperate and I cannot see how they would not sell. Heck, you have had guys on here pretty much begging to buy some it, but the choice is yours. Just my thinking anyway, good luck. |

Rarely does a complete collection sell in one fell swoop, its usually sold off in pieces since people are looking for particular items to add to their sets. I was thinking of buying this whole thing myself and selling it off in smaller parts similar to what you outlined above. I for one am still willing to buy some plaques if you decide to break it up. |

Thanks for the advice...
If you did want to buy the lot to sell off, I imagine you'd make $$ at it for sure. Even at the buy it now price.
If the auction ends with no winner I'll be breaking up the set for sure. Just not sure how small of sets I want to deal with I guess. I like the idea to break the Paulsons into 2-3 sets. That's reasonable. The plaques will be interesting. It would be an organizational nightmare to try to sell them individually. But probably the most profitable. I'll probably break up the smaller denoms into sets of 5 to 10. It's sad to see a large set get broken up... |

I would do the plaques here as a group buy format. List what's available, price for each and let people post the pieces and quantity they want. Let it run for a week or 2 or until they are all spoken for. Fill the orders from the top (earliest) to the bottom. You could easily keep a tally in excel or even notepad to keep yourself sane. Add a reasonable fee per plaque or per order for packing & shipping (fedex ground is cheapest & quickest). |

So one lucky bidder will win the lot of chips and plaques. Note that the price of the auction is still low enough where you could buy the lot and sell the parts and make a few hundred dollars. The responses from this site alone leads me to believe that one could get around $3000 if you sold all the parts off. If you have some funds available for an investment, go for it. Plus you could keep some plaques or whatever for your own homegame! Auction ends around 2pm CST. Bidding is only at $2000...so a person could potentially buy this as an investment and make several hundred bucks. Feel free to PM me with any questions if you have any. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
