You can probably just apply the labels over the injection marks. However you should wipe chips with alcohol, or soapy water and rinse, to clean off residue and any oils. Most of the labels will adhere well and you shouldn't worry about them falling off. Since you're already prepared for the label abrasion against other labels, you shouldn't be too upset when the labels start to fade or scrape away from the abrasion, but they won't exactly fall off.

I am currently ordering some labels for my faux clays, but I seem to be getting conflicting reports here. I am definitely going to put labels on, and coat them with krylon protect it, but my concern is with the injection marks. I would prefer to just leave them on and put the labels over top, as it is hard not to leave some scrapes on the chips in the process of taking them off. Will he labels stick onto the chip well if I put it over the injection mark? I am willing to accept a little label to label contact, but I definitely don't want labels falling off after a few sessions
