Other than the Nevada and Diecard molds from Nevada Dice Company (later renamed to Bud Jones Company) all of the Bud Jones chips have been injection molded, their most well known being the coin insert chips. The chip that is on the Nevada Jacks site is the Bud Jones V7 chip that is currently popular in both casinos and cardrooms. It's a 12 gram injection molded (in layers) with a brass insert under the label.
Why are they sought after? 'cause they're used in casinos and not sold on the consumer market. Why does anyone pay the kind of prices that some people pay for chips?
And if you get a chance visit a casino that uses RT Plastics chips, you'll find that they have a metal insert that actually responds to a magnet. Ironically, their consumer chips do not have the metal insert.
