Actually, some newbies I hosted last week asked me (sincerely) whether poker is always played with only one deck. I explained to them that it has to be, otherwise the hands and rankings don't make any sense anymore.
But I wouldn't be surprised if some home games are going on, as we speak, where they are playing hold 'em with multiple decks, maybe even being dealt from a shoe. Never understimate two things in human beings: greed and stupidity.
